That's right. I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year.

No, I pretty much doubt I'll win it, with moving going on.

No, I don't think I'll share it with people. It's the history behind Elemental, and I kinda need to know what happened for bits of the sequel. Then again, hell, if I write enough in that universe maybe I'll find SOMETHING I find worth publishing. =P So far I think only a small handful of people would even find it interesting.

But anyway, yes. Writing is happening.

NaNoWriMo is a go.

If I finish the story, even if it's less than 50k, or if I don't finish it this month, whatever happens...as long as it's better than the last two years, I'll have won.

Of course, if by some miracle I go over 50k this month and finish this bit of backstory, I'll be over the moon. 'Cause, you know, that would just be awesome. :D

1309 words and I want a cigarette for the first time in months. I swear, I can taste it. Ugh. Writing under a deadline, even self-imposed, is hazardous to my health.
tamchronin: (Hermione - brown nosing know it all)
I won. I wrote my 50,000 words in one month. The novel isn't done, but I'll still be working on it. I won't leave people hanging.

I think this is the closest I've pushed it, though. This is only the second time I've validated on the final day, and I distinctly remember it was mid-afternoon when I typed in "The End" on Wings, after which I promptly collapsed and curled up and slept. I think I cried.

Oh, and for the record, I wrote 20k words in just this last week. ~facepalm~ Being a habitual procrastinator sucks.

Anyway, if you wanted to read what I wrote this month, but you missed the post when I started writing, check it out. Reply there, and I'll add you to my filter. I'm pretty proud of it, for all its flaws. ^_^

And, if you want to read the first novel (since this is the second in the series), Twilight Dreaming can be found in my memories.

I'm gonna go play WoW. =p
tamchronin: (Szark - lessons)
I have finally reached 25k words for NaNoWriMo this year.

I will so win this thing.

That is all.

20646 and rallying. This is where things should really start happening, finally. I hope that makes it easier to write. Wish me luck in pulling myself up by my bootstraps. It's day 18, and I have a lot of ground to make up.

Visions of the Afterdark, Chapter Four: Future of the Fae (a) )
tamchronin: coctail umbrella captioned "pretty but pretty useless" (Well this sucks - SW)
7957 words. ~faint~ I think I'm past Infodump City now, at least. @_@ Have some cute Jalireth POV. Everybody go "awww" for little boy Jalireth. ^_^ He won't stay that way forever! hehe

Visions of the Afterdark, Chapter Two: The Cursed One (a) )

Those of you who have been with me through NaNo before should know the drill. The first part is public, anything that comes after will be filtered. (If it's not, please yell at me so I can fix it ASAP.)

If you want on the filter, please say so now. This is not an obligation to review, or even an obligation to read as soon as I post. I *hope* that everyone who wants on the filter will say something encouraging as I plod on through the month, but it's a pretty hectic month, even for people who *aren't* nanoing!

This year, as I said in a post earlier today, I'm writing the sequel to Twilight Dreaming. There's the handy link to my memories, if you need a refresher or if you missed the first one and this has you curious enough to want to check it out.

Anyway, request away. And if you're writing something that you KNOW I'll love, point me in the right direction. I won't make promises that I'll read it this month, and if I don't I want you to remind me when I'm done writing, but I just *might* read it because nothing makes me procrastinate more than NaNo!

So, here's the start...or the middle, as the case may be...

I'm at almost 500 words. I might be higher if Anakin hadn't stayed home from school today. ~shrug~

For those of you curious about what I'm writing, I decided at about 9:30 this morning to work on the sequel to Twilight Dreaming. There is grumpy Eliasan in the first chapter, and this gives me warm fuzzies.

Portents of doom, a baby is born, and an Empress goes mad.

(For those of you who were part of/followed my RP with these characters, I'm changing a good portion of what went on. I'm taking some of the good stuff, and dropping some good stuff that makes me feel bad now. I love you guys, and don't want you to take any omissions personally, but the last year or so I've had some IDEAS for this one.)

Be sure to stay tuned for werewolves. And vampires. And the cutest Fae kid in the universe.

Hey all, I'm back online.

Okay, sure, at this point nobody misses me when my connection is down for nearly 24 hours, because people assume I'm off doing other things. My life is defined by such chaos, these days. I like it like that.

But, I missed *you*! ~hugs friends~ ~hugs internet~

It was dark, alone, and scary. ;_; NOT in that fun Halloween way, either.

Anyway, I have a "witch" costume to put on, for the amusement of the Anakin.

I still can't decide what to write for NaNo. I guess I'll figure out which story I'm doing, when I start writing tomorrow morning. And, I MUST post 2000 words to my LJ before I'm allowed to get on WoW for the day. So, if you have any spare luck sitting around, please send some my way. (My priest isn't going to get to use her broom before it disappears, at this rate. ;_;)

~hugs everyone some more~

This is your last chance.  Read from the start, or forever suffer confuzzlement.  (That's confusion, for those who don't know Tamspeak.)

tamchronin: (Hermione - brown nosing know it all)

It's almost the end.  If you missed all the important stuff at the start, DON'T START HERE!  Trust me.  Your brain will thank you.

tamchronin: coctail umbrella captioned "pretty but pretty useless" (HP - ZAP! I got you! Nuh-uh!)

This is another episode of my shameless November padding technique.  That's right, these pre-chapter breaks to tell you about the warning or disclaimers or notes or nose pickings at the beginning of the story are all a shame.  A shameless ruse to waste your time and add numbers to my story count so that I can win at NaNoWriMo.  If you think any less of me for it, you've obviously never participated in NaNoWriMo.  (Those of you who have, feel free to steal this idea!)

tamchronin: coctail umbrella captioned "pretty but pretty useless" (HP - ~sigh~)

This is another chapter.  Here it is.  Right here.  Right now.  For your amusement.  Just for you.  All for you.  For nobody else but you.  Unless you didn't read the warning or disclaimer or notes at the start of the fanfic.  Then it's for someone else.

tamchronin: (Hermione - brown nosing know it all)

Thingies are at the thingy at the start of the thingy.  Would I thingy to you?  I thingy not!  Thingy.

tamchronin: coctail umbrella captioned "pretty but pretty useless" (HP - ~sigh~)

Sanity?  No thank you.  Information pertaining to this story can be found that-a-way, at the start.

tamchronin: (Hermione - brown nosing know it all)

Here.  Have a non-warning, with a non-disclaimer with a helping of non-notes on the side.

tamchronin: coctail umbrella captioned "pretty but pretty useless" (HP - ZAP! I got you! Nuh-uh!)

At the tone, please fill in your request for a proper note and disclaimer, including any information about the status of any previous reviews/comments on this story, and whether or not you have in fact read the first one.  Thank you.

tamchronin: coctail umbrella captioned "pretty but pretty useless" (HP - Just kidding)

Once upon a time, somebody else wrote all about the characters and places in this story first, and it wasn't me.  I don't own any of the characters or settings in this work of fanfic.  If you'd like to know who does, please walk to the book store nearest the cave you've been living in and ask someone to point you in the direction of the Harry Potter novels.  Thank you.

tamchronin: coctail umbrella captioned "pretty but pretty useless" (HP - ZAP! I got you! Nuh-uh!)

I disclaim and disavow all dastardly and deviant intentions dealing with this derivation.

tamchronin: coctail umbrella captioned "pretty but pretty useless" (HP - ~sigh~)

Yes, that's right, it's another lame chapter, and another lame attempt at lame humor to point out that this is not another lame disclaimer, and that the actual disclaimer (which is also lame) came at the lame first chapter because the lame author is too lame to come up with a better way to shamelessly pad her lame word count (which is actually rather impressive for this time in the month!)
