DNAngel, Satoshi/Daisuke, algebra

Notes: I thought this would be the easiest one, until it hit me that I haven't thought about algebra in over a decade. So, it turned into a bit of a nightmare...
Equations
"I'll get it straight," Daisuke said, running his hands through his hair. The blackboard made no sense, but it didn't really have to. "I just have to write the right things, as long as the graph is plotted."
TIME + SPACE = ?
"That's the one that's giving me the most problems," Dark said, next to him. "I just can't get past one without the other coming back to-"
Krad stood on the other side of the blackboard and snapped a piece of chalk in two. "That's the easy one. Wait until you reach problem five."
Daisuke looked over, knowing with sudden imperative that the key to the universe was in whatever problem five was. But, Krad wouldn't move out of the way. "I can't see," he said, trying to look around without moving.
"You need to stand over here," Satoshi said, but they were overlapping.
"I can't!" Daisuke frowned. "He keeps getting in my way."
"It's easy," Satoshi said. "You just have to slip dimensions sideways, until you fold in on reality and then you can stand wherever you want. Any idiot can do that."
"If you'd just move..." Dark and Krad got into a fight, and they both had pigtails that they were pulling on, and they both had pillows that spewed feathers everywhere, black and white, and everything was a mess. "Stop it. You're getting in my way."
FIVE. D+A+R+K = K+R+A+D, Y+Z = Z+Y
"Oh, that is problematic," Satoshi murmured, erasing the equation.
"Wait," Daisuke whispered with urgency. "I didn't read that yet." It was a lie, but he had to say it.
It was too late. The board was covered with ME + YOU =
The answer was blank.
And it was the end of the class, so he'd get detention for not answering all of the questions. "I'm sorry," Daisuke said. "I'm sorry."
"Well, if you'd wake up--"
It was like a light switch turning off, and Daisuke's eyes flew open. His head was resting on Satoshi's lap still, just like when he'd fallen asleep, but the shadows had shifted and the air was decidedly cooler. "I haven't dreamed about them in years," he murmured softly.
"Who?" Satoshi asked, running fingers lightly through Daisuke's hair.
"Them,” he said with particular emphasis.
"As long as it was just a dream," Satoshi muttered, shivering.
Daisuke sighed and sat up. "Yeah. Just a dream." But, he still hoped, despite Satoshi's wishes. He just missed Dark so much. "We should get home. Before anyone--"
Satoshi was already on his feet. "Until tomorrow," he said.
"Yeah."
