Anakin and I are safe for now.

DO NOT, under any circumstance, go to our apartment if you know where it is.

The entire complex is a festering hive of zombies, and we're helping a guy set charges to blow it all up.

I was worried about having Anakin help me with this, but as the others said, "Every pair of hands is a help." In times like these, any able body is an asset.

And that kid is better at killing the living dead than I am! Who knew that letting him play with toy swords all his life would pay off like this?

Okay, more details later. I'm just grabbing the last of my stories (flash drive), and then we're heading to AZ Mills Mall. We're in touch with some people who have set up a base there. It's not ideal, but we'll have food and water and weapons.

I have an apartment full of lightsabers and several glow-in-the-dark blasters. I say, "Bring 'em on and light 'em up!"

They've overrun much of the West Valley too. Hubby, Kaijuu, Lynne, and I all managed to make it to the local Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market and blockade ourselves in with a bunch of other area residents, so we should have supplies for a while...if the doors hold. And a couple of people are starting to smell a little suspicious...

Thankfully they haven't hit the cell towers yet, and we grabbed the laptop and the aircard when we left, which is why I'm able to get in touch with you. If they break through here, we're heading to Independence next. A bunch of us think that an underground complex might be easier to defend, plus you know what a maze that place is.

Yeah, I heard from another friend that they haven't gotten within a mile of Palo Verde, so the further out you get from the city the better your chances are. Joyce and the kids are probably just fine...

Give everyone hugs from me. We managed to barricade the mall up pretty good, and most of us are out fighting to make sure it stays that way. I was put in charge of communicating with the outside world, to see if we can organize a real resistance. I guess they took one look at Anakin and decided it would be bad to have his mommy put on the front lines.

I'll update again in a little bit. I have a lot of work to do.

Glad to know that you're still alive. The problem is just as bad up here. They seem to exhibit an aversion to sporks. Aim for the eyes.

If all else fails, locating a chainsaw might be advisable. Maybe setting up base at your local Sears would be helpful.
