It's yet another Touya/Yue/Yukito fic. hehe It might be a little rusty since I haven't written them in AGES, and it's a lot shorter than I like to deal with the complexities of their relationship, but it felt so GOOD to write them again! ♥
I love this advent calendar thing. Absolutely love. You have NO idea. ^_^

"The moon isn't even out tonight," Yukito murmured softly, looking up toward the sky and the clouds that hung low in the night sky. "I know it's full, but--"
He stopped, listening to an inner voice before he climbed nimbly out of the window and onto the roof. Wind buffeted him, making him shiver slightly, but he stood and stared upward, looking intently at where the moon should be shining in the sky. He sighed softly, wrapping his arms around himself, looking so much at peace with himself, with the world, despite the growing turbulence of the weather.
The boy that followed him was a little less nimble, and a bit deliberately loud as he followed onto the roof. "Magic or no, I can't let you go out on a night like this without a jacket," Touya grumbled.
"You're supposed to be sleeping," Yukito said, taking a startled step toward the window. "You shouldn't be out here, you can't--"
"I know what I can and what I can't do," Touya said, grabbing Yuki and wrestling the jacket onto him.
"But, I can do that myself," Yuki protested, trying to step away a little, making Touya's efforts just a little more difficult.
"I've been taking care of you for years," Touya grunted softly. "If you think I'm going to stop now that--"
"Touya," Yuki said disapprovingly, finally submitting. "I don't need taken care of."
"Humor me," Touya said sourly. He tugged on the jacket's collar, pulling Yuki toward him slightly, fussing with the lay of the jacket and smoothing out wrinkles. "I need someone to take care of."
"You need someone to take care of you," Yuki said, reaching up and placing his hands on Touya's shoulders. "You're still weak..."
"And if you start blaming yourself, I'm going to just jump off the roof and end it now," Touya said shortly. "So. Don't even think like that. Understand?"
Yuki nodded and leaned in close, resting his head on Touya's shoulder. "It's hard not to," he said softly. "It's so hard not to see what I've taken from you--"
"What I gave to you," Touya corrected gently, holding Yuki gently and rubbing his back.
"What I took," Yuki insisted, looking up into Touya's eyes. The city's lights reflected on the clouds enough that they could see clear enough what they needed to see.
"We're not going to sit here and argue this all night," Touya said. "And I'd give more, just to have you here, with me--"
As he spoke though, Yuki pulled away slightly and Yue took his place. "What I took," he said firmly, as Touya's hands slowly dropped to his sides. "You can't argue with me--"
"Yes I can," Touya said sourly. "I can argue with anyone, especially if they're wrong. I'm a lot more stubborn than you think."
"I have much more experience at being stubborn," Yue pointed out.
"But, being stubborn doesn't make you right."
Yue was silent for a moment, and then he turned away slightly. "I'll concede the point for now. What's done is done, and you saved my life. Thank you."
Touya sighed and sat down. "That wasn't the point. Or, at least, that's not what I came out here for."
Yue looked down at himself, resisting the urge to smile since the jacket had disappeared when he'd changed his form. "Cold doesn't bother me, you know."
"I know," he said, sighing and leaning back a bit. "That's not going to stop me from trying. Even if it kills me."
It was a sentiment Yue knew too well. "You are the one who needs taken care of now, though." He had to be blunt, so they wouldn't be playing unnecessary games.
"Yue," Touya said slowly, with a hint of warning in his voice. "It's not your job to take care of me."
"But, you're Her brother," he replied softly, with careful emphasis. "Being Sakura's guardian means guarding those she cares for, as well. If you are hurt, it will hurt her--"
Touya rolled his eyes. "Liar," he accused. "You do it because you want to."
Yue froze, fighting internally between the truth and his duty. Finally, he sat down next to Touya and nodded. "Because I want to."
"We're not so different, that I wouldn't know that," he said, reaching over to caress Yue's cheek.
Yue froze for a moment, but finally he leaned in to Touya's touch. "No," he said softly as the first raindrops finally fell. "I suppose we are not."
