Last night, bigbadwolfcub and I were sitting down for some together time playing WoW, contemplating some quality alone time after that...and the power went out for about thirty seconds.

Okay...it made our computers reboot, but no big deal, or so we thought. For some reason, we couldn't connect. Traced it over to the modem. Single solid red light. WTF? Grrr. It was getting power, but not working. Did the power fluxuation kill it? We can't afford to replace it! PANIC!

I'd noticed that Anakin's light was dim and flickering a bit, but assumed that it was because the lightbulb was about to burn out to add insult to injury.

My wolf cub got pissed, went out to take out trash and smoke...and that's when I noticed that about half the apartment was getting about half power. Including the socket that the modem was plugged into.

Aha! Problem solved. I told him, he moved it to the same side of the apartment as the computers as a temporary measure until the situation was resolved, sat down for more WoW, and the power went out again for a moment. Huh? It kicked us out of the game, shut off our computers again...

But, that wouldn't happen *again*, would it? There was just no way! So, grumbling and no longer in the mood for sex, we went to play some more...and the lights went out again, when we were in a really bad spot.

This time, the electricity died completely. For over twelve hours.

And, since just about everything we've got in the house requires *cooking*, we dined on tortilla chips and rice cakes.

Morning comes around, power still out...I got Anakin to school and I've got a good book I'm totally wrapped up in. Yay, excuse to read and not be online! I can be selfish!

I got the cub up at about 10:30 and he went to complain to the manager's office. They gave him a bag of ice, and basically said, "Not our fault, not our problem."

The power was out in the entire complex...and JUST in our apartment complex. But it's not their fault, not their problem, have some ice so you can't say anything about all the food rotting/melting in your freezer, go away.

Needless to say, I was not impressed.

BUT, as soon as he got back, the power came back on. We got our imperiled characters to safety...and the power went out again. It came back up again. We tried to do a daily quest. (We love bombing in Skettis, for those 70s on my friends list. lol) We finished it and were about to head back to turn it in...and the power went out. DAMN IT! We were in a pretty bad place, too, since we'd just been attacked by a giant bird and then ganged up on by the guys on the ground. We managed to log back in, get our 70s to Allerian Stronghold...hovering over it...and the power went out for a few seconds AGAIN!

No more WoW. All thought of a before-work quickie was banished. Neither of us were pleased at this idea.

This time, though, the power stayed on for a while. The cub had to go to work, but I could still sit and bask in the blessed air conditioning...which didn't seem to be working too well. I was still overheated, but it was better than outside.

And just when I was about to go pick up Anakin, the power went out again.

We've got one unshaded wall in the apartment, and it faces west. So, the heat of the day is when the sun roasts us the most. Usually the AC is up to the task, but today the power had gone out at 2:50 and didn't come back until 7:30.

I'm exhausted, overheated, and hungry. I stayed up last night, reading, waiting for the electricity to come back on until about 3am. Sleep dep. Hunger. Heat exhaustion. I drank loads of water, but I don't think it was enough, since I've had a couple of mild heat strokes before.

And I'm not putting my whining behind a cut, because I want everyone *else* to suffer, too. lol

(Just kidding. It's pure laziness. And a sincere hope that your scroll bars aren't broken. And I'm tired. And I'm babbling. And I just want this day to be over with and for the power to NOT go out again. Because I'm seriously about to cry.)
